A is for Apple

This week our class had their very first guidance lesson from our fabulous counselor Mrs. Q! She told the kids about how she is here for them at school if they ever need help.

In Social Studies this week we learned a little bit about New York. We discussed all the ways that New York is the same and different from where we live. Then we found it on our map!

This week we learned all about the letter Aa and the sound it makes. Thanks for allowing your children to bring in an object that begins with the letter a! There were so many different objects that begin with a!

On Thursday the kids got to explore all the different items at our "A" table. They recorded what they found in a circle map during one of our centers.

If your child wasn't able to bring an object that begins with A that's okay!!! Next week we are learning about the letter Ss and kids are welcome to bring in object that begin with the letter s to share.

We read lots of stories this week about baby animals and learned about how they move. Some crawl, some waddle, some swim, etc. On Thursday each student chose their favorite animal that we learned about and made a puppet. They loved it! Some even started making their own puppet shows after.
