Aloha Family and Friends!
This week in P2 we did a little thing I like to call "PE Math"! The kids had so much fun! We combined PE and Math together into one super awesome lesson! First, the kids got in to groups of 4 or 5. Everyone had a bean bag animal. Next, the kids had to throw the bean bag animals towards a target on the ground. The closer to the center of the target, the more points they got.
After each throw the kids then recorded their score on a bar graph. Here is how a couple of kids did...
This week in health we learned all about how to cross the street safely. The safest way to cross the street is to:
1. Be with an adult, or get their permission
2. Find a crosswalk or street corner (cars are more likely to spot you there!)
3. Stand at the edge of the side walk (off the street so you are safe, but close enough to see any oncoming cars.)
4. Look left, right, and left again.
5. Cross the street in a straight line, and keep looking for cars.
We also learned about different traffic signs that help us cross the street.
This week was Spirit Week, and Friday was Cultural Day! To celebrate we learned about the different types of clothing worn in different countries for Social Studies. Afterwards, the kids did a cute art project to show what they learned...
What a multicultural bunch!
Thank you to everyone who has been supporting our Dolphin Quest fundraiser by bringing in recyclables or money from recyclables. We are so close to our goal, and still have more bags to deposit in class! Way to go!
Hope you all have a fantastic three day weekend and I will see you on Monday!
Mrs. Kawai
